Discovering the Sneeuberg
Moraea spathulata is abundant throughout the Sneeuberg. Photo: Vincent Clark.
In the December 2006 issue of Veld & Flora there was an article by Ralph Clark and Nigel Barker (Rhodes Univerisity) on the fabulous flora of the Sneeuberg in the Eastern Cape. (Click here for pages 202-203 and here for pages 204-205). They have finished the project, published the article in the South African Journal of Botany and will follow-up in the December 2011 issue of Veld & Flora with a few final comments and statistics in which it is fairly obvious that this area is indeed worthy of the name The Sneeuberg Centre of Endemism.
