The September issue of
Veld & Flora includes a centrespread poster and two pages of ideas for class activities and lessons that make up the second
Learning about Biodiversity pull-out section for teachers. The poster was designed by the City of Cape Town and I hope that it serve to catch the imagination of some scholars and make them aware of how much fun it is to take an interest in our flora. I would love to have some feedback from teachers. Please email me at

I hear a rumour that SANBI is curtailing the environmental education and outreach greening programmes at Kirstenbosch and other National Botanical Gardens. I wonder why?
